22. TOXICITY:

Poison schedule - S6

Summary: Slightly toxic.

Details:

Poison schedule - 6.

Mammalian toxicity - Slightly toxic.

Acute oral LD50 - >2000 mg/kg (rats) for product, 1517 mg/kg for propiconazole. [For comparison table salt is 3000 mg/kg]

Acute dermal LD50 - > 4000 mg/kg (rat).

Skin - Slightly irritating (Rabbit), not expected to be sensitising. Some individuals have an allergenic response. Prolonged or repeated exposure may defat the skin and cause dermatitis.

Eye - Slightly irritating (Rabbit). May be an eye irritant

Vapour inhalation - LC50 - > 5.8 mg/L air (rat). May irritate respiratory tract.

Chronic oral toxicity NOEL - 4 mg/kg bw/day for two years.

Not mutagenic in the Ames assay (i.e. not likely to cause birth defects). Increased incidence of liver tumours have been reported in mice but appears to be specific to the mice and not relevant to humans.

Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) - 0.04 mg/kg/day for lifetime exposure.

NOEL 4 mg/kg/day.

23. TOXICITY SYMPTOMS:

Headache, dizziness, respiratory irritation, chemical pneumonitis.

Dermatitis.

24. FIRST AID:

If SWALLOWED - Rinse mouth with water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Give a large quantity of water top drink DO NOT give water if the patient is unconscious or having convulsions. Rest patient and contact a doctor. (Vomiting may cause aspiration of product into the lungs causing chemical pneumonitis).

If in EYES - Irrigate for 15 minutes with plenty of water. Contact a doctor if irritation persists.

If on SKIN - Rinse with plenty of water, remove contaminated clothing, wash with soap and water.

If INHALED - Remove patient to fresh air. Contact a doctor.
